Space for kids, dogs and grown-ups...
The garden at West Park lies on three sides of the house, with the fourth side protected from the village road by a double hedge.
The garden encompasses just under an acre, is mostly grassed, and gives you plenty of room for a barbecue (barbecue, utensils, plates, etc., all supplied - as well as a sturdy picnic table) or to play games. There are benches dotted about for you to relax in and, if it's just too hot, seating in the courtyard where you can keep cool.
We have (March 16th 2010) installed a patio by the kitchen, outside the Utility Room, complete with barbecue, so that you have a pleasant and private space to enjoy picnic lunches.
We've now taken away the fence that split the garden from The Field, so you can flow from one into the other. For safety, bear in mind that this is old pastureland and you should take the same precautions with dogs and kids that you would generally in the countryside.
